No pasts...want to plan the Camino for May 2018
Hi Everyone.
I know I’m getting ahead of myself here, but when and if I get to SDC, I plan on going on to Italy and Greece for a few weeks and will not be needing my poles or pack etc.
Was just wondering if any other Aussies have posted things back home or is it not worth it because of being cost prohibitive, not to mention that said gear may not be in any condition to be salvaged..
Thankyou for any input..

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
My sister bought a bike, and posting it back to New Zealand was going to cost over 700 euros. It only cost 299 euros, so it didn't make it back from Europe. It was a fraction of that to get it to Paris, so that's where it lives now. She was considering just donating it to someone on the street!
It was rather large though, so surely a small package would be much much cheaper.

You might like to check out the cost of postage in Italy and Greece. I am currently in Germany, and the postage here is MUCH cheaper than other places I have sent things home from. The other thing to make sure is that you clean everything very thoroughly to post back in case border security dont like the look of it. I always get a scrubbing bruch and scrub every last vestige of dirt off. I even go as far as removing shoelaces to check that there are no seeds imbedded in my boots. I don't want to be the one responsible for introducing some noxious weed, or disease in the country. Also don't forget to declare you shell. Mine has been on holidays at least a half a dozen times and I always declare it when re-entering Australia. They are fine about it, but technically they could give you a hefty fine for not decalring it, even though it is clean and has no meat on it. Buen Camino, Janet

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
