Porto to Santiago - August

Is this route very crowded in August? Would accomodation be a problem?

The Norte was a big problem last August.I would certainly advise against it until the infrastructure improves drastically.

The Camino Portugues is the second most popular camino with 25,628 pilgrims last year up from 5,504 in 2005. The growth has been consistent and rapid, so it is reasonable to expect that infrastructure has not kept pace. Someone's experience even just two years ago may not be applicable this year.
