I have also used Leki poles on my four Caminos, and have found the Leki branded tip protectors are the most durable. I put a new set on at the start of the Camino and take a spare set...usually I do not need to change protectors. The downside with Leki protectors is they seem difficult to find..at least here in Western Canada. However, they seem to be the best from an endurance perspective.I have used Leki poles for 30+ years and their tips for almost as long. Last camino , I decided to buy poles in Leon, rather than pack them. Never again! I was dsappointed all around with the poles and tips. It was a quite surprise when I heard a clicking noise as I was walking into Ponferrada. The rubber tip of one of those poles had worn through in about 100km! Normally, I get about 1000kms from my Leki tips walking roads, And if I walk trails…who knows, because I have never had a pair wear out completely. I will never go on another camino without my own poles and tips.
