Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

As Didier and I approached Estaing, we met an older woman who stopped us and asked if she could take a couple of photos of us. We asked why she wanted pictures of a couple of pilgrims she had never met before. She explained she was retired and visiting small towns by car. Her husband and her son were walking these stages of the Camino, but it would be too difficult for her. Her hobby is ink drawings and water colours, and so she would sketch different locations along the Camino as she waited for them. She showed us several of her sketches. They were very nice. Then she showed us one which had the Camino in it and explained that she wanted to create some drawings of the Camino with a couple of pilgrims, and that was why she wanted our picture.
As we were chatting with her she noticed my accent and discovered I am Canadian. She asked me what my impressions of France were, and "What is France" to me. I simply pointed at Didier and said “This is France. Didier is France to me!” And it is true. He was, and is, a great Camino companion, a good walker, and provided excellent colour commentary on everything that is France, especially the food!
A few weeks later, he received an email from her, with an ink sketch of Estaing ... but rats! we didn't make it into the drawing!

Thread '447,704 and still counting!'
When the Santiago pilgrim office opened this morning the running total of Compostelas issued for this year stood at 445,807. Today they handed out another 1,897. Making the new total for the year to date 447,704. More than were issued in the whole of 2023 (446,078) which was itself a new record year. And there are still nearly 3 months left of this year.- Bradypus

Thread 'Camino forum's new software update'
I have been posting some long-ish entries on my daily "Live on the Camino" thread for the Ingles route I am now walking. I have noticed for the last couple of days that if I want to preview what I've wrote, or possibly make a few changes, or insert additional text somewhere, that I am unable to take a look at the whole post before deciding to "send" from my phone. It seems to be stuck showing only a few lines of my text and has never done this before and is frustrating. Has anyone else...- Camino Chrissy

Thread '2025 Albergue Trends'
The results are in from the annual autumn questionnaire I send to all the albergues, and they are not as radical as they were last year. Prices have increased, but not as frequently as they did from 2023 to 2024, when prices almost universally went up. In fact, two albergues (so far) have lowered their prices. There have been a few closures on the Norte, Portugués, and Francés routes due to retirement (four!) or the inability to negotiate a new lease. Some of these closures are a real...- wisepilgrim
