Hi. Did I read a thread about taking a different route from Ribadeo - continuing westwards on the coast and coming into Santiago from the North - thereby avoiding the masses doing the last 100km. On this map - it looks like it's definately do-able. Has anyone done it? Was it well resourced? How long did it take? Recommended or note? Thanks in advance :)

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
There is a way to stay along the coast after Ribadeo and link up with the Ingles, and follow that into Santiago.

However, the last part of the Norte has been re-routed in the last 2 years to avoid hooking up with the busy Frances until just before Santiago. Overall, this stretch along the Norte from Ribadeo onwards is now quite tranquil, and I personally found it a lot more pleasant than going into Santiago via the Ingles. You can find a lot more information about the new routing of the Norte at this thread. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...cial-last-part-of-the-camino-del-norte.58356/

Or just follow the yellow arrows. At the end of Boimorto follow the new camino off to the right, instead of going left down to Arzua on the Frances.

You can follow the Ruta do Mar from Ribadeo, past As Catedrais and as far as Foz. At Foz turn onto the Ruta/Camino de San Rosendo towards Mondoñedo. This takes you through San Martiño de Mondoñedo and then on to Lourenzá on the Norte. From there you can follow the Camino del Norte to Mondoñedo.

Check directions at San Martiño - I believe you follow the road to the right of the basilica. Information centre is up the steps and behind it to the left.

You can do it. But no albergues. Here is some info: www.spanishports.es/texto-diario/mostrar/791436/camino-natural-ruta-cantabrico-mapama-ofrece-154-kilometros-costa-norte-galicia

Here is a youtube video of the route

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
There are a number of posts in the Ruta do Mar (from Ribadeo) section which should help you
Also our blog posts Rinlo to Devesa and Devesa to San Cosme.
We used booking.com and google maps to find accommodation.
Note that we turned inland to San Martiño (no accommodation as far as we know) and then north to Foz. Your plan should keep you on the coast after Barreiros (San Cosme to find accommodation.) and then turn south from Foz to San Martiño and on to Lourenzá, Mondoñedo etc
