hello I’m Lynn. Starting Camino norte on 26th April. I have completed this route before but more than a little rusty and pudgy after lockdown years! But I love the coast. Just wondering…. Does anyone know if a site with the norte municipal albergues on in English,please? And anyone heard about situation on openings/closures etc….. thank you and bien Camino!

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Hi Lynn;
I am starting from Bilbao in early April (fingers crossed all things proceed). If you send me a DM I can add you to the list of people I plan to keep a bit updated as I move along.
I do have one week (Holy Week) booked already, so I have 3 weeks in which I'll be winging it in the usual way.
But I've not had any troubles securing those 7 nights... roughly from Santander to Gijon. My first week is in Bilbao on work... but my sense from getting a small studio apartment for that week is that costs are very manageable and that things are available.
Buen camino

Join Camino Cleanup: Logroño to Burgos May 2025 and Astorga to O'Cebreiro in June.
Basque association albergues still remain closed from Biarritz to Bilbao - no ETA on when (if!) they will reopen in 2022

Thank you. I’m still thinking taking a tent incase plus bit more covid safe

Besides Gronze check the Wise Pilgrim,Camino Ninja and Buen Camino apps they will give you more choices of places to stay. They are all free.
There is this site also that I checked a few times when I walked. Open it in Google Chrome and it will translate to English.
Always call ahead if you are not sure of the status of an open albergue. Things seem to be changing for the better. Gronze keeps up to date as best they can but you know no website is 100%

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
