New hostel in Saint Jean de Luz

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
On the Camino del Norte, between Bayonne and Irun, a new hostel will open in Saint Jean de Luz on 1st of May 2020
Thanks for that information. Just a technical question is the walk between Bayonne and Irun technically part of the CN or does it have a different name, or no name at all. I was talking to a woman who started in Bayonne when we were in the municipal albergue in Irun and when I asked her the same question she said I have no idea and we had a little laugh.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Is that May 1 opening a set date? I pass through there on April 26

I will be walking from Bayonne starting July 2nd. I'm looking to stop in Saint Jean de Luz overnight and would love to save money and stay in this new hostel. Might you have any further information on this new place? Name? Phone number? Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
We didn’t stay in it in 2021, but it was open and looked incredibly tidy! I would definitely check it out and let the forum know how it went.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Great!!! I will start on the 07 in Bayonne. Perfect Timing

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Thanks for this information. There is no other budget accomodation for pilgrims that I could see. I hope its still operational. Its all expensive hotels and Air BnB's.

Do you know if they take reservations? Thank you!
According to Gronze they don't.

But I was surprised that they seemed to accept transported backpacks. I arrived before they opened, so I went to have lunch and came back. When I returned to check in several backpacks there waiting outside.

I don't know for sure though if they had been transported there.

You can always call the phone number listed on Gronze.
Or perhaps @Monasp can answer.

Thanks for the quick reply. I wasn't sure if gronze was always accurate. Their number isn't a Whatsapp number and I cant make European calls until I get over there in a few days. I will call then. Thanks for your help and info

I use the Viber app to make very inexpensive ~2¢ per minute calls to/from other countries. I also use it when I need to call landlines or other numbers that don't use WhatsApp while I'm on the Camino.

I buy $5 of Viber Out credits, and it lasts through several Caminos.

You can also use Skype if you already have it.
