Interesting alternative. Where does the path go from Verin? Does it go to Ourense and then to Santiago?

Decisions, decisions, decisions!

A big thank you for all the work that has gone into this.

I will be in Finistera/Muxia near the end of June, could just find myself walking to Verin and on to Viseu.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Yeah, there is an Albergue in Verin (and one I believe in Monterrei about 1km up the hill) and then there is a choice to go directly North to join the Camino route through Laza or North West through Sandias and Allariz eventually joining the Laza route just before Ourense.
