A touchy subject and one the moderators may decide to close down on. Much as I'd love to walk the camino, I'd also like for it to be healthy and safe both for pilgrims and locals. Nuff said.

It is not intended to be a political post at all. As a significant policy shift from a major regional power that could have regional influence, it would seem to be relevant to our discussion here.

Maybe, but not very. Early in the pandemic, moderators had a tough time deciding how much non-Camino discussion to allow. Everyone was keen to give day-by-day descriptions, information, mis-information, and discussion of the medical news, travel, local restrictions, etc. from all around the world. We had to limit and manage that!

Similarly I think we will try to limit the updates on the same topics - hopefully in reverse now.

Restrictions in Spain, France and Portugal are fair topics, as are travel requirements. But I don't think we need more than incidental mention of mask rules, etc. in other countries. That info is readily available on any news site. Further discussion has minimal relevance to the Camino and it does have a tendency to get political.
