Just gone into the Monbus site for the first time in a few weeks. It’s been relaunched. Seems a big improvement not that I have done anything meaningful on it yet. Anyway…

I liked the old one. This one will take getting used to. Looks like a lot less information available such as downloading routes and times or at least I don't see that here yet.

While i did have no issues with the old site, i do hope that the online check-in process has also been changed. That was quite the hassle, especially when you had booked multiple tickets over a single mail account.

You can online check in on Monbus! Sorry I’m being really thick! How does that work?

been a while... when you book online you get your tickets and some link... follow them, click some tiny button, then you get some QR-Code which the driver can scan... but again, it's been a while, it was a bit overly complicated in my memory and i have no idea if they changed it.

My understanding for this but open to correction is the name difference between the town, Fisterra, and the ' end of the world' Finisterre, 3.2 k's further on with the bus coming and going to and from the town.
The Gronze Fisterra and Muxia site shows the distance to Fisterra with the 3.2k's add on for 'Faro de Finisterre'.

Ah yes sorry. That’s right. Think we are just using different terminology. Yes a QR code is received, and scanned by driver on boarding.

It gives no results for Faro de Finisterre or Finisterre. It only recognizes the Galician name.

The extra distance is because the faro is the lighthouse on the cape south of Finisterre/Fisterra. It's the same town but with names in different languages.

Am aware of the location difference but not aware of the reasoning for the use of the two languages used together as in the Gronze example ie Fisterra for the town and Finisterre for the Cape?

Seems to be a slipup. I see Gronze does label the cape as Cabo de Fisterra, on one map anyway (1), and in another map(2) the lighthouse as Faro de Fisterra. On a third (3) the lighthouse is Faro de Finisterre. There are inconsistencies in filenames too.

As far as I know, the bus only goes to the bus station in Finisterre/Fisterra. Tour buses go up to the lighthouse, but not the public bus.

Yes that's correct so to my understanding explains the answer to the search on the Monbus site as it relates to their terminology for the town.
