There is a hotel across from the train station Atocha, looks lovely and not so costly

When in Madrid I like to wander around the La Latina neighborhood just west of Plaza Mayor and a little farther west of Atocha station. Hotels, hostals and Airbnbs abound in this area. My preference is OK Hostel Madrid. Your grandaughter will love it. Buen Camino

After we finished our two weeks in Navarra six weeks ago, we an apartment on the Calle Leganitos. I believe it was on Booking. It was superb, a good price with a perfect location. I believe you can find it on Booking or elsewhere under the name Edificio Leganitos.

I stayed at Met Madrid Hostel via booking.com. It was nice and clean and close to San Miguel Mercado. It’s on the same street as the Madrid Camino church so you can go there for your final stamp! It’s actually where I felt I “finished” my Camino.

I was just in Madrid. I would recommend AirBNB. I love Plaza Mayor and spreading outward, especially to the Palace Royal.

We just got back 48hrs ago! Stayed in Arenal Suites and Apartments in Puerta del Sol - great location, shops, restaurants right out side, easy walk to palace, cathedral, plaza mayor, El Corte Inglés with amazing food court just out the back entrance. Our party of 5 had a three bedroom apartment, spacious lounge/dining/kitchen.
