Just curious: How do you know this? I had a quick look and I see only three establishments that are listed as "for pilgrims only" which I take to mean that it is for 1 night only. The rest is labelled as "not only for pilgrims but oriented towards pilgrims" or has no such information at all. I'd say that you can stay longer than 1 night in the overwhelming majority of establishments in SJPP. It is not a town that caters mainly for pilgrims, it caters for hikers and tourists in general and it is a popular destination as such.I'd like to stay 2 nights in SJPDP and I know many of the places listed on Gronze etc are 1 night only.

Where are you seeing this information?I've looked most of the gites, albergues and hostels. One must vacate these establishments during the day
But remember, hostales are only a specific lodging category in Spain.Thank you for the clarification. I will look for hostales.
Currently staying 2 nights at Gite Bidean in town centre. You can stay here in a private room or small dormitory and they offer dinner and breakfast. Just book ahead either by email or booking.com. Highly recommend! Buen Camino!Oh dear, I didn't mean just for Pilgrims. I want to relax and not worry about needing to vacate the premises for several hours during the day. I've looked most of the gites, albergues and hostels. One must vacate these establishments during the day.

When one "drills down" into the information online or when one receives a booking confirmation. I took some screenshots but having trouble getting them posted here.Where are you seeing this information?
It is true that hostels around the world that cater to backpacking youth often have this requirement to leave during the day. But they don't have the 1-night only restriction.general understanding that hostals/hostels/albergues. Etc are intended to be vacated during the day, say 0900 until check-in.perhaps I am incorrect?
