Le Puy camino March/April 2025

Hi,

I’m Sally from Australia and I’m planning to walk for 3 weeks starting in Le Puy in mid March 2025. I know, it’s going to be cold! But I love walking in the cold and have done a few walks in France/Italy/Spain at a similar time of year. It’s refreshing and there are usually fewer hikers.
Re the weather … I had a couple of weeks’ torrential rain on the Camino de Santiago, and my rain jacket was fantastic. However it was 20 years old by the time I walked the Via Francigena last year and after only light rain was not waterproof so I am wanting recommendations for a good jacket or poncho.
I have looked on the Gronze site and it looks like there are plenty of gites open in March. Any ideas about where to stay when I arrive in Le Puy?
I have tried to open Andy’s guide however am unable to open it, and it sounds like it has been super useful for lots of people, ant tips on how to open this link?
Any other tips or advice would be useful and appreciated
Thank you
Sally

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hi Sally - I’m planning my own Le Puy camino and have been using the Grozne site for Albergue research. It’s in Spanish but the Albergues are listed by stage and it’s very helpful whether or not you speak Spanish.

If you use the Google Chrome browser you can use the translate option and it will translate the Grozne site into English for you.

I just read Andy’s guide today for the first time. Here’s the link I downloaded it from - for me an orange ‘download’ button appears - that’s what I clicked to get the guide.

Thanks for that info. Yes I translated the Gronze pages to English with google translate. I clicked on your link to Andy’s page but don’t get the orange button to download, similar to when I tried previously … not sure why …

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
