Been laid up in Burgos for two extra days on top of my rest day. When I went to pick up my antibiotics the pharmacist said everyone’s (pilgrims ) been getting this cough that I have. I don’t know anyone else who’s gotten it though. Be on the lookout folks :/

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Thank you. I am trying to keep up with my liquids and I’m mostly staying in bed. No energy for much else. I’ve just never heard of a “lower” respiratory tract infection in my very many years. I guess it makes sense that there is such a thing since there’s an “upper”

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Pretty sure I contracted RSV March 2023 on the camino (after my first day, no less!) and it kicked my butt. I was laid up in Zizur Mayor for about 9 days until I finally started walking again.

Rest, hydrate and don't push yourself...

I was laid up for three days with something or rather in Burgos last April. I didn't go see a doctor because it seemed to be what everybody else walking had.

I had three different colds at different times. Which seemed to match many other spring pilgrims' experiences.
Heal quickly!

For the curious:

An upper respiratory infection or inflammation affects your sinuses, throat, and maybe about as far down as your trachea ( cough). . Typical cold symptoms. Of note, gentle exercise is encouraged. It does not affect your ability to breathe much, aside from not being able to use your nose.

A " lower" respiratory infection affects your bronchi and lungs, as well as your overall ability to breathe. This is the more dangerous of the two, as it can progress to pneumonia. Exercise is *not* recommended; rest is.

Thanks for the clarification! I guess the Dr was right (lol), I’m definitely “lower”! I was feeling “better” after a couple days rest but then a tiny walk to the cathedral had me knackered! Thanks for the well wishes all.

Camino cough, usually hits about Burgos! Been there myself! Probably the best place to heal up…and a few shops sell some books in English! Feel better y buen camino!

Lower usually means lung area, upper is more throat if that helps! Prob why antibiotics given. Get well soon.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Just did google searches on Flu and RSV season in northern Spain. The result for Flu was for northern Spain. The result for RSV is not specific to a region.

I would practice social distancing and not be "crowded" environment as much as possible.
