Time of past OR future Camino
September - October 2018
My wife and I have wanted to do this for several years. The stars seemed to have aligned (in bad ways and good ways) to allow this to happen for us in September/October. We hope to meet some of you on the Camino Frances somewhere between SJPDP and SDC and would enjoy hearing about what has led you to this experience. We are looking forward to reset mentally and emotionally as we contemplate the next stage of our lives.

Before the Camino: Your Pocket Guide to Prepare Your Body and Mind for the Camino
It sounds like there is a story behind this! Many many things can lead one to the camino experience, like any other experience whether mundane or transformative. My advice is to not overthink it - take an attitude that you will enjoy the journey, make the best preparations you can, and then let it happen. Buen camino!

3rd Edition. Vital content training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Ditto to @C clearly
You are not computer programs to be set to do something at exactly designated time. Something will happen, no doubt. What will that be it's up to you in accordance with your comrades, weather, your boots, backpack, chorizo, orujo, washing your socks, hopefully no blisters & bedbugs, enough water, snoring in albergues etc.

But...

Buen Camino ;)

My husband and I will be on the road then also. I have always found it very fascinating to hear from people on the way why they chose to do the Camino, In my experience, invariably there is some form of resolution, insight or gift at the end - which corresponds exactly to the intent or search.
Buen Camino.

Welcome Frank and Heather,

Hearing people's reason for walking I think can offer a great insight into what makes people tick, I'm sure you will hear many fascinating stories as you walk.

Burn Camino,

Rob.

A great book to listen to while training for the Camino or to relive the experience!
Isn't it amazing how the stars do align for the things that we are called to do?
Ive now decided that the world is divided into exactly two kinds of people.

When you mention that you are undertaking this journey people either:

1. ask you more about it, with a twinkle in their eye, look at you longingly with jealousy,
OR
2. explain loudly, what are you nuts? is it safe, why would you want to do that?, why wouldn't you just drive?, so you just walk...the whole way? why?

Two kinds of people. Simple. Those who get it and those who don't.
How wonderful that you will do it together. My darling is firmly in the #2 camp.

so, do you want to pray for a miracle, or not???

As I was leaving the first time, I met a colleague as I was printing my plane ticket at the last moment. We chatted about holidays, etc.
He looked at me (he is a sage old soul with a beautiful twinkle in his eye at all times ) and asked - "you're comfortable, just having a rucksack, aren't you?"
He was totally in sync with the idea of the Camino, the only thing that he knew he couldn't live with was the idea of living from a rucksack for so long.

There are some very special people in the middle of type 1 and type 2.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Frank and Heather, my husband and I are starting on Sept 12th from Pamplona! The time feels right for this journey and adventure. We are excited and anxious, but mostly looking forward to what unfolds for us. We feel we are at a crossroad of our lives. Ready to reset mentally and emotionally. Perhaps our paths will cross.
Buen Camino.
