Its a River of Stars

For those who are trying to walk "that" pain away
Or run
Or hide
Or deny
Once
Or one thousand times

It's a shadow...your shadow you cant outrun
It's the nite that kills the day.

We close our our eyes to the world and hide
And run.

So all that is to see is always the preceding shadow.

Well...you must be going east...

Because west puts the shadow behind you...
Where it belongs.

Turn your face to the light and simply walk
Dont think any more about what shadows you

Slip far away and be cupped in the hands of the sun
Feel the whispers over your face and listen to what the wind has to say

Let slip the tears behind the sighs..they are not the prize..it is for you to rise like the sun
And like the day
And like the Way
Your shadow lags behind, and thus you are ahead.

It's a river of stars after all
All waters run to the sea
Pilgrims run to Santiago
And the shadows fly.

Be gentle with yourself Pilgrim on the Way.
Pax.

What a wonderful poem.
I will learn it by heart for my next camino.:)
