Is 7 day walk enough to feel the Camino?

Time of past OR future Camino

I am planning to walk a 7-10 day route, but I was wondering if it is enough to feel "the vibe" or it feels more like just a long hike? Thank you!

Hola @Zara123, I see that you are from Spain, so you might even start your own Camino from your front door. 😍 How lovely is that? Many of your compatriotas walk one week at the time and return the next year to pick up where they left. That is a great way to walk a Camino, there is no rush and getting home is easy.

The vibe or whatever it is, is probably different, but that should not bother you. Everyone walks their own camino, you cannot walk someone else's and that is OK. Estelas en la mar, como dijo el poeta.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Yes definitely, although we are all different. From day 2 or 3 the Camino already had me hooked. It may also depend on which part or path you are choosing for those 7-10 days.

For me there is a different character between long and short Caminos. They both have "a vibe" though the one from walking 7 days feels very different from walking for two months.

Yes definitely. I think when you know you will be walking for such a long time you are automatically in a different vibe/mindset to what you are if you are just walking for a week - this is very true.

So me actually comparing how I felt 2-3 days into my 33ish days is probably not going to be the same for someone 2-3 days into a 7-day walk.

Prepare for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island, Oct 27 to Nov 2
