COVID I received my Corona "passport" today:

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I like the electronic! Mine is a small...odd sized card that got stamped after each shot. And of course I can't find it right now...put it in the most dangerous of places in this household...a safe place. I'll find it but what an aggravation!

I get people's hesitation concerning vaccine passports. But, these have actually been a reality for quite some time. When I visited Uganda with Catholic Relief Services a few years ago I had to receive a series of shots, including Yellow Fever, all of which were recorded in a bright yellow shot record produced by the World Health Organization. Without this I would not have been allowed in country.

I've got no problem proving I've had 2 Pfizer shots and only fainted once (Yes, I'm one of those big guys who does not do well with needles).

Funny side note, I was able to visit the Bidi Bidi refugee settlement near the border with South Sudan and when we arrived there by bush plane we were told that we would need to go through Ebola protocol (This was in 2018 for reference). The protocol consisted of having our body temperatures checked and recorded and then we washed our hands in bleach water. That was it. That was Ebola protocol.

That is great news Alex; you are almost fully on your way! Carpe diem.
Oh, yes; Camino planning for July/August is ongoing now. Thank you, amiga.

There is only one small hill to climb first: We need all EU countries to be synchronized, with a common certificate platform. That should happen around July 1st. Then I'm off the ground.

Will walk in July and August. I shall never again complain about the Spanish heat of summer: These days, I actually miss it!

Ok I will watch when those heat waves are reported in the Summer while you are walking Alex!

I am glad for you…it has been a long wait…hope you get to Greece and celebrate with your friends! 😃😃😃

Yes, both Spain Camino July/August and Greece (real name: Hellas) Sept./Oct. are within reach now. Thank you so much!

I have to add: Having had 2 shots of Pfizer (both of us) we feel very relaxed, and ready to start living again. Corona Certificates etc. seem now just a formal bump.

Edit: I promise not to complain about heat wawes in Spain this summer! I promise! I'll compensate with cold beer. Currently 6C up here in the Arctic, and the "warm" weather is supposed to continue, with some rain in between...

Alexwalker, you have to move further north, we had +29C some days ago.
I printed out my certificate today as well.

I am not there and can not get there from the US but my friends tell me the restrictions on outside cafe/bar activities have been lifted and the place is swarming with tourists. I haven't asked where the tourists are from but I suspect they are mostly French. I am trying to sell my apartment and the agent is very positive about my prospects this summer.

It is, for now, valid for border crossing within EU/Schengen. In the beginning of July, it will be adjusted to conform with coming common EU directions.

Here is what my Norwegian certificate looks like: (This is a demo, not my QR code):

Good for you. I will just wait and see what we Americans will have to do come October. As I said today's rules and requirements will probably be tomorrow's yesterday's news.

I got my QR code when I got my first shot about a week ago. Things are coming together. :)
I am in the UK and after getting my second jab I downloaded the app. The NHS system was being overloaded and I wanted to make sure I had it just in case we are required to have it so downloaded it in the early hours. (Sad I know, but I am an ex shift worker so often did things in the middle of the night). So all my records are up to date and I have the QR code. It expires on the 21/06/2021. Second jab on the 19th May so I have no idea if its valid thereafter. I assume not, but a month seems pretty pointless. Anyone else from UK with same?

I am from Norway. Yesterday when I checked my Corona "passport" it was valid for 3 months. When I checked today, it was increased by 1 day, still giving it 3 months validity. It seems they increase it one day at a time. Go figure.

All of this opening confusing stuff is in the mould right now: Different governments are making different restrictions/measurements. I believe all of this will change way before July 1st, when EU decides what the rules are, for all countries in the Schengen area.

And the rest of the world will abide by those rules,I am convinced, in order to allow a more relaxed/civilised approach to free travel, as we are all getting vaccinated. And then peace will set in, and the world will breathe again. As of now, it is a stupid level of hysteria going on in the world.

For the time being, many countries, including my own Norway, have idiotic restraints on travel, especially for fully vaccinated people.

@alexwalker , I wonder if they limit the passports to 3 months due to the fact the longer term effectiveness of the vaccine is still unknown. From what I’ve read studies have shown up to 6 months protection, but they only have 6 months worth of data to use since it’s a new vaccine. So each day provides a new data point for the study. I suspect that as more data is gathered the length of effectiveness will continue to increase. Just my thoughts. Now planning an October Camino. Happy times.

Actually, as for now, they seem to increase the validity 1 day at a time, keeping it constantly at 3 months. So it seems that your vaccine is valid for at least 3 months running, and extending day by day.

What a joy to be able to walk the Camino with a 3 months worth of a valid Corona certificate at any given time. I'll be slow, smelling the roses this time.

But all this will change in a couple of weeks, before July 1st: When the EU has decided on their rules, the world will follow those rules. Fast. For the better.

@David61 Mine expires the day before yours and I've no idea why.

Perhaps it renews itself?

We can but wait and see what the (very short) expiry date turns out to be.

I am also UK and have the NHS ap - but it doesn't give me a QR code? I can just check/view my vaccine record - can I ask where on the ap you found your QR code?

Oh - update - found it! Thanks for flagging up as I had no idea it was on there! NB: it says it automatically updates every 28 days, so doesn't expire.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

I hope that all wll be safe and clear next year for Olavs leden!

Thank you. When I first downloaded it, it did not say auto refresh. I suspect they had a lot of questions and have updated that since.

Áine (meaning "brightness" or "radiance") is accepted as Anna and Anne (Áine was the name of an Irish Celtic goddess). Some Irish given names may have no equivalent

Michael @MickMac
I shared this news with USA citizens (irish born and their US born children ) who are my son’s ‘in-laws:/wife ‘ etc. My daughter in law had mentioned in the past ., obtaining an Irish passport. They appreciated the info. Thankyou. (Interesting post)
ps. Having done my ancestry input etc/ I have a good share of Celtic roots.

To ‘travel internationally again will be good. I think I’ll even appreciate it so much more if that is possible.

buen camino to all that are on their way.

I got my EU Digital Covid Certificate today, too.

I printed them out. Around here, we Comirnaty by BioNTech Manufacturing GmbH vaccinated persons get two certificates, one for dosis 1/2 and one for dosis 2/2. Pretty. Nice colour scheme. Two weeks ahead of schedule. Who would have thought it, I had had my doubts. ☺️

The paper version of my EU Digital Covid Certificate has a layout with markers for folding up. It then has the size of a Camino credential ☺️. In the app, it's just the QR code.

Do you mean this Reuters news: Ambassadors from the EU's 27 countries approved the addition of the United States and five other countries at a meeting on Wednesday, with the change to take effect in the coming days. Albania, Lebanon, North Macedonia, Serbia and Taiwan will be added.

It is just a recommendation that is in preparation and it is likely that it will be officially published soon. It remains to be seen whether all the individual EU countries follow this EU Recommendation. It looks promising, though. The UK is still not on the EU recommended list of countries.

Just to avoid confusion:

In this thread, we talk about the QR code of the EU Digital Covid vaccination certificate. This is for people who live in the EU and got vaccinated there.

This is not the QR code that everyone needs to have when travelling to Spain from the USA. This is the SpTH QR code.

Two different things.

No, I have printed it on paper, as a backup.
Kathar1A does have to be done with in 48hours before getting in the plain, or arriving to Spain? ; second, do I have to have the result of my rapid test before I feel out the health Spanish form? ( I’m flying to Pamplona on the 21 of June) I was told that since we stop by Madrid in our way to Pamplona they need the PR test with in 72 hours of arrival or is it with in 72 h before boarding. Thank you

The rules are changing as we speak. New rules for the EU are expected on June 26. Click on the link for present rules:

You fly on 21 June from the east coast of the USA to Pamplona and you are vaccinated.

You don't need a PCR test and you don't need a rapid antigen test. You need to have your vaccination card with you.

You can start filling in the SpTH form right now. You can complete the form, sign it and obtain the SpTH QR code as of 48 hours before your arrival in Madrid. Take the arrival time in Madrid, convert it to the time it is where you live, count back 48 hours or 2 days. Example: If you arrive in the early morning at Madrid on June 22, you can obtain your QR code as early as your morning of June 20. If you are very keen, you could get up in the middle of the night from June 19 to June 20 but I would wait until it's my usual getting up time. ☺️

Best of luck and Buen Camino!

I just checked mine after seeing your post. Under the code it says2D barcode expiration date16 july2021
your barcode automatically refreshes every 30 days to protect your data.
I hope it does refresh as I am in Bulgaria until 19th August when I hope to travel to Spain.

You just said with vaccination from US, one does not need a negative test as well??
Just to clarify....?

Correct. When you are vaccinated in the US and travel from the US to Spain, there is no need to do a test and no need to have a negative test result.

Unfortunately my Iberia ticket for June 21/21 insisted in the PCR, I called them 4-5 days ago; please tell me that I’m wrong 😑 thank you

There we are: I am merely a person on the internet and you will have to go by what the ground staff at the gate decides on boarding day.

If you live in the USA, plan to travel from the USA to Spain, have completed a vaccination program in the USA with the last jab several weeks ago, and are faced with conflicting information, I‘d recommend @Iberia_en on Twitter. They‘ve been consistent with their information since about late on June 6; occasionally, they provide an international phone number to contact the Iberia helpline in Spain.

Best of luck, bon voyage & buen Camino.

You must always fill in the boxes with an asterisk *.

Region/Autonomous city * : Pick Navarra, comunidad Foral de from the drop down menu.
Province: Pick Navarra again, it's the only choice in the drop down menu.
City/town * : Pick Pamplona or Roncesvalles from the drop down menu, depending on where you will stay.

Is your flight today???
