Does anyone know of a company that rents out horses or donkeys for the route from Sarria to Santiago de Compostela?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

This really made me laugh out loud. The thought never even crossed my mind. Now I'm intrigued!

I met a couple who rented horses and hired a guide to do the CF 15 years ago . The stabling of the horses was the biggest hassle. Many time the horses needed to be trucked away upon reaching their albergue and wouldn’t get them back till 10 the next morning. The also stopped an hour midday for horses to rest. I was walking and saw them for a few days but eventually out paced them . I’m glade they had lots of $$

The Xunta have been working with equestrian organisations to make the Sanabres more accessible by horse. Including work in progress to build an albergue with stables in Piñor. As a much less travelled route it is probably more suitable for riding than the Frances with its occasional boisterous crowds.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
This page on the csj’s website might be of some help.

I read a book about a couple who took their small child to SdC, riding horses all the way.
It was pre-2000.
I do have it somewhere but have far too many books to be able to find it that quickly, sorry 😕

Edit:
I just found it on @mspath’s second link.

Spanish Pilgrimage: A Canter to St.James, by Robin Hanbury-Tenison

It’s quite ‘British’ 😉
