Hospitalero Forum

There seems to be a sensible proposal to have a private section for hospitaleros whether this is in addition to or instead of the current one is a question. I would suggest a separate private section as some information is such as "how to become a hospitalero" is open but some such as "how to deal with impossible pilgrims" is private.

Presumably a hospitalero would have to apply to Ivar or someone to be vetted.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

..the best thing would be if someone took responsibility, and just sent me a message on who to include.. that way, they can do the filtering... I would not know who to include and who not to..

Probably best to just have one forum for this for now.. private.. and then split it up into more if needed..

Just my thoughts..

Saludos,
Ivar

If we do this, there has to be someone that are dedicated to it.. otherwise it is better not to do it I think... we should not push anyone into it, since motivation might not be there...

,,just my thought...

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
My 2 cents. I have not even made my first pilgrimage but don't exclude my voice on that account.
I agree with Ivar that you want someone to come forward rather than ask someone. People that feel pressured into a decision perform less well than one that embraces the idea and invests resources to make it there own.
I myself own and manage a support and information forum on a particular set of chronic diseases and couldn't continue without the dedicated "volunteers" I have. You want someone in that spot that would be dedicated but first must volunteer on there own knowing the commitment of time and energy involved. Without that commitment you risk loosing the visitors to competing priorities.
Put the talk of a closed group up for discussion sure, maybe even continue it in the open like here, but allow time for the cream to rise to the top before final selection. When it does reach the top you will have a more committed volunteer and increase your chances for success.

I'd just like to point out that once upon a time, when I received all the day's postings via one digest, when the hospitalero section was only open for those who signed up for it- the daily digest used to include anything people had posted to the hospitalero section. I couldn't access those postings if I went directly to the Forum, but they appeared in my digest. So you might need to be sure that things are as private as you think they are!

The 'members only' section can show up too under some circumstances so that posts can be read (but not added to).
We have an 'intranet' area for an organisation we belong to (as volunteers), but I do not know how it works. It is not accessible at all, except by logging in.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
This is a good point. I use Tapatalk on my smart phone and I don't think the "private" function works with all forum software. There has been talk about Tapatalk users on SMF forums being able to see areas they don't normally have access to. As I am using Tapatalk right now I cannot see what forum software the site is running.
