Walking the Camino end of first week of June 2016
Hi there. I'm from Australia and am starting the El Camino from SJPDP solo at the end of the second week in June. I want to have the full pilgrim experience staying at the hostels which don't have to be pre booked along the way. Am I being careless in assuming there will be beds available at this time of year ? I have heard it is already busy along the way and people are finding it hard to get beds. Is anyone else out there starting about the same time as me who hasn't pre booked accommodation ?

Welcome to the forum and I wish you well on the Camino. Dealing with summer crowds, different types of accommodation and all the uncertainties, is part of the "full pilgrim experience"! And yes, there will be many people starting at the same time without pre-booked accommodation. ;) Buen camino!

Hi Karen!
I'm starting from Pamplona on June 22 and I'm not planning to book anything right away. I'll just see how things are. Based on reports from pilgrims in various threads on here, it sounds like things are kinda busy, but not unmanageable. That's probably not that helpful, but I'll be there with you, figuring things out!
