First Camino May/June 2025
Hello everyone,
I am new to this forum and new to the Camino community. Currently I am planning to walk my first Camino in May/June 2025. Which of all the options I will walk, I’m not sure yet. I will have 3 weeks off work, but considering adding another week to give me more time.
So far I’m considering one of the Portuguese options with the Muxia and Fisterre added on or the Norte.

There is still some time to decide :)

Looking forward to reading and hopefully getting some tips on here.

Welcome Daniela. Plenty of information can be found here before you make a decision on which Camino to walk. I can say the Portuguese is a good choice, as is Finisterre and Muxia.

Although I can’t speak to the Norte, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Portuguese particularly the Central Route. With your time frame you can walk from Porto, then include the Variante Espiritual after Pontevedra, and finally finish by walking on to Finisterre and Muxia with time to have a few days in Santiago. Either Camino, you have a lot to look forward to. Buen Camino!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Or you could do the coastal from Porto, Variant Espiritual and Fisterra Muxia!!
The Espiritual is beautiful i would walk it again tomorrow :)
Whichever route you choose have a wonderful walk
Buen Camino

Hi Daniela, welcome and hello from another Forum newbie! I'm walking the CF from SJPDP to Muxia next May/June. Whichever route you choose, you'll have an amazing adventure, and who knows, we may even cross paths somewhere along 'the way'.
Buen Camino, Barb

Hello again and thank you for all your replies :)
After some more research and thinking about it, I have decided to add a few more days to my time off work and walk the Primitivo. I know it’s said to be harder, but I plan on taking my time and not rush it. If I have time left at the end I’ll do the Muxía/Fisterra in addition.

Now that I have decided I’m really excited and can’t wait to start next year :)
Until then, I’ll start walking more regularly in my free time and read more about it here on the forum.

I did the Primitivo two years ago and I loved it! Just do your training and you’ll be able to do it. I wasn’t in the greatest of shape at the time the way I am now and I managed to do it. Doing the Portuguese Camino from Lisbon to Santiago this September. My second one and I’m very excited. I’m thrilled for you and I hope you have an amazing experience on your first Camino!

Great choice. I haven't walked Primitivo but a former town-mate, who has walked several of Spain's Caminos, including CF 15 times(!) says Primitivo is her all-time favourite. So enjoy your planning, training and anticipation of the magic to come. Buen Camino! B
