The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I did try to adapt. I wasn’t very good at it but I did try.
Can you perhaps tell me the names of towns where you had problems, but as an example I have picked one "in the middle" of Carrion de los Condes.

Whether or not you use google maps directions for the whole walk or not, just go there on GM and hit the Restaurant button and bingo you get about 20. The first one is here and looks OK and for starters it has hours for each day of the week (closed Sunday), eg
Monday
  • 10 am–3:30 pm
  • 7–10 pm
Lots of lovely photos of food glorious food so you can settle on that or explore times/food in other 19 - too easy

Hector posted detailed daily accounts, including mention of his difficulty in finding food. You could review those threads, but I don't see the point in it now. Trust me - after 20 or 30 days of exhausting walking, one does not remember clearly what happened where, or care about which restaurant or store you might have found if you had check Google Maps! Or whether it was open at the stated or needed hours.
