Hi - I'm wondering if anyone on the forum has created or has a copy of a kml, gps, gis or other geographic file format of the moments/sites of interest listed by Gitlitz and Davidson in their "The Pilgrimage Road to Santiago The Complete Cultural Handbook". Thanks

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I don't have any files that are collections of waypoints but, and this is likely going way further than you want, you can add waypoints of your choosing to existing GPS files in the gpx or kml format. These files are actually text files written in a special markup language similar to html files.

The format for a waypoint in gpx file format:
<wpt lat="37.421542" lon="-122.084094"> <name>Home</name>
<sym>Home</sym>
<type>Residence</type>
<desc>My cozy abode</desc>
<ele>10.5</ele>
</wpt>

The format for a waypoint in kml file format:
<Placemark>
<name>My Waypoint</name> <description>This is my waypoint description</description>
<Point> <coordinates>-122.0822035425683,37.42228990140251,0</coordinates>
</Point>
</Placemark>

Hi thanks for the reply. I'm good to create, edit and otherwise manipulate things, I was just seeing if someone may have already plotted out the sites in the book (aka the time consuming part). I had started to do it quite a while ago but I can't seem to find where I saved it... So was hoping to copy someone's homework so to speak to try to avoid going through the process again

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Understood. I can't help you there. I figured that if you ended up with several versions of waypoint files you might want to know how to combine all points into one file. Good luck.

*** but I can't seem to find where I saved it...
Assuming you saved it on a Windows computer, you might try the freeware "Everything," available at Voidtools.com" https://www.voidtools.com/downloads/

I have been using Everything for about two years, and it has saved me hours of (often fruitless) searching my computer for lost or misplaced files.

Once your computer is indexed, a typical file or folder search takes about 2 or 3 seconds. As an example, if you name a file or folder "Davidson Gitlitz Waypoints" and you search for "Waypoints," it will bring up every file or folder name that contains the word "waypoints."

What is "Everything"?

"Everything" is search engine that locates files and folders by filename instantly for Windows.
Unlike Windows search "Everything" initially displays every file and folder on your computer (hence the name "Everything").
You type in a search filter to limit what files and folders are displayed.

How long will it take to index my files?

"Everything" only indexes file and folder names and generally takes a few seconds to build its database.
A fresh install of Windows 10 (about 120,000 files) will take about 1 second to index.
1,000,000 files will take about 1 minute.

Does Everything search file contents?

Yes, "Everything" can search file content with the content: search function.
File content is not indexed, searching content is slow.

Good luck.
