Camino Frances 2022, The Way of St. Francis 2023
My wife and I will start our first Camino Frances on April 23, 2022 from SJPDP. We are 66 and 70, so we decided to take the Valcarlos Route and walk only about 12-15 km a day until Pamplona. After that, we plan to average about 20 km a day and take our time and enjoy the journey. We already made overnight reservations for the first five days to avoid unnecessary stress in the early stages of our walk. We are ready!

I am 68 years old and also a slow walker. I am hoping to do the Camino Frances in May/June 2023. I am very appreciative and thankful to all of you in this forum for your great, helpful feedback and advices.

Good news, and welcome to the forum!

If you haven't already done so, you are welcome to click here and then on the appropriate thread, to add your name to a list of pilgrims starting in the next six months. You might find others who you will meet in person when you walk. :)

Enjoy the anticipation and preparation for your Camino in 2023. And I agree that this forum is amazingly helpful.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
It seems we have very similar plans. I'm 65 years old. I plan to leave SJPP on April 23, 2022, on my first Camino, and take 5 days to get to Pamplona via Valcarlos. After Pamplona, I'll see how it goes.

Exciting! Maybe we will run into each other. I agree with your comment on "I'll see how it goes." That has been our philosophy as well after all careful and detailed planning, we just want to experience it as it unfolds. Buen Camino.

We are on schedule for our first Camino starting on April 23. This forum has been amazingly helpful. I want to thank the Casa Ivar team for running the site so effectively. I also want to thank all the members for sharing their experiences, opinions and providing valuable support. This is a great forum by great people.

My wife and I are looking forward to seeing new places, meeting new people, learning new things, learning more about ourselves and learning more life lessons. It is all good! Thank you all.
