LIVE from the Camino Final etapa from Lugo to Santiago

Hola a todos, since last Sunday I've been riding the Primitivo from Oviedo. It has been challenging, interesting, my bell has been tinged when necessary, I've been impressed by the peregrinos along the way and surprisingly I have seen no other bicigrinos. I'm now in Lugo enjoying the Arde Lucus festival on over the weekend (I did wonder why accommodation was so expensive) and intend to leave on Sunday if the weather doesn't keep me here longer. So the advice I need is which route to follow from Lugo to Santiago - by bike remember? I've already ridden the Frances and don't wish to be entangled with all the peregrinos on that route, the Verde then the final stage of the Norte, which I've not completed yet, sounds promising. Are there any alternatives other than winging it? And with respect please don't tell me I shouldn't ride this or that section, it would just be a red rag.....

We rode from Lugo to Sobrado on the Verde a few weeks ago. The route is gorgeous but more suited for walkers. It is more like an obstacle race for bikers with stairs, extremely narrow parts etc. from Feriol onwards we found swamp areas and had to back track. We reverted to Google maps which also gave us a beautiful route and found ourselves back on the route eventually. After Sobrado we took the O Pino option which further delays intersecting with the francaise.

I have the video of the route. Might give you an idea! Loved this Camino including hospitales.

Thanks for the advice Michelle, I'll head for Sobrado tomorrow. Watched some of your video, the weather was much better than now, it's cold in the middle of flamin' June. Richard

We rented the bikes through Bikeiberia. They deliver to your first hotel and collect from the last. Both hotels need to have a manned reception and in an area reachable by car that is not in a pedestrian zone. They have different packages example with panniers or without. Have a look at their website www.bikeiberia.com

We had no complaints.
