My Crazy Camino
I’m sure I’m going crazy
I’ve lost the way I’m sure
What started out quite easy
Is mired in thoughts unpure
My intention, all along has been
For penance take my place
Among the thousands on this path
Through God’s amazing grace
Get first to St Jean Pied de Port
Bust ass up winding roads
Reach Roncevalles panting, struggling
Shed off the extra load
Come to the realization
Though alone, there’s thousands here
They’ve walk, and toiled and died
Yet, for each the Way was clear
Now I’m not speaking of religion
Be a pilgrim in purest sense
But more, in understanding
That it’s here we cross the fence
It’s lapsed, or graced or searching
Can there be a Way for all
Is it hurts and tears and yearning
That proceeds us for we fall
Can we take without some blessing
Is there hope, where some might fail
Is the laughter in the refugio
Strong enough to light the pale
I’ve a mission, NO… a journey
I seek guidance not a plan
I need seeds that bloom each Spring time
I need trust in fellow man
I’ve not met the folks I’ve come to trust
But, their words ring true to me
Sometime barbed, touch soft…demanding
Yet, as true and true can be
Johnny Walker, keeps me focused
Then there’s Cecelia to prod my brain
Add to the mix, sweet Dire DrE
Who knows the value in a name
Then there’s, Br David, Charles and Ivar
Who without their words we all
Might stumble in the darkness
They “yell out” avert the fall
Vinovinto, he’s my brother
The unwashed, won’t understand
I take strength from his sage wisdom
Every time he writes…Ma Man
There’s more I’ll come to know soon
But the one who guides my path
Is Sil, my Camino Angel
Focused more on strength than wrath
So, as 2007 leaves its days behind
And the New Year takes its place
May your God, or strength or feeling
Stride beside you every pace.
