My family will be walking the Camino Frances in May 2014...

Well, I grew up in NE Ohio, and drove through the epic Erie snows many times on my way to the ski areas, if that counts. Sort of a pilgrimage we made made every weekend all winter.

You ohioians probably were headed to peak and peek ski resort or holiday valley i am guessing... We love to ski and go often. One of the good points of living in the snow belt!

Hi Ellen, Merry Christmas! I am originally from Erie but now live near Atlanta. My husband and I walked the Camino twice. In June 2010 from Astorga and May 2012 from SJPD. We loved both pilgrimages and plan to go back in 2015. I know you will have a wonderful experience. Enjoy each moment no matter what happens, rain, or shine. It is over before you know it and you'll always wish you could go back. Good luck!

Ellen--Good heavens it is a small world. I grew up in Erie, went to Prep and Gannon. I live in Greenville now.; I am on sabbatical from Thiel College and used the time to....walk the Camino! I walked from St. Jean to Santiago in 38 days, from September 24 to October 31. It was sublime and profound. Sorry I didn't see your post until now. But that's OK; I've got Camino fever!
