Hi, we arrive in France on April 8 and will start our walk in Ste. Foy La Grande, as we have been section-walking. We're wondering if we'll have difficulty with lodging and food over the Easter weekend. The official holiday is the Monday after Easter. We'll be about 10 days into our walk by Good Friday, doing at least 20km a day but we can do longer if necessary. I estimate we'll be in the vicinity of Sault de Navaille by that time. Anyone have any idea what we might expect?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If you were on the Podiensis (Le Puy route), I'd say to book in advance, but the Vezelay route will be far less populated. Still, it would be a good idea to contact the lodgings (see your guidebook) directly to 1) see if they'll be open and 2) whether they will take a reservation [and 3) whether other services in town will be open or closed]. Bon chemin!

I agree with Kitsambler--I would call ahead to find out.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I believe your big challenge will be getting meals. In these small villages, Where there might only be one place serving food, the Restaurants and cafés Frequently close on Sunday and Monday, in this case where you’ll be traveling over Easter, it could be more of a challenge. You might want to consider stocking up on Saturdays, just in case.
