I’m happy to read that you’re expanding your caminos Michael, and have come to enjoy the way to Muxia. It’s a good place to think isn’t it?
I’m ok but wish I was back there - it’s only been 7 mths since last camino but it feels like 7 years.
So you’re saying it’s pretty quiet on the way right now ? You’re okay with quiet though ?

The photographer is standing on the corner of Rua das Carretas and Rua da Horta, facing West. You can just see a bit of Iglesia San Fructoso at the left of the upper image. There is a cafe on that corner. Plaza Obradoiro is behind, up the ramp. The Pilgrim Office is down the street to the right.

I have escorted pilgrims here to get them started on the route to Finisterre and Muxia many times. This is the beginning of that route, from Santiago.

The only time I have seen totally empty streets in Santiago near the Cathedral area was when I walked to the old bus station a few times over the years, and very peaceful pre-dawn.
Like many others, @MickMac, I prefer the tranquility and wild beauty of Muxia, but Finisterre has its own vibe and type of beauty. I appreciate the variety and enjoy both.
Instead of going West towards Muxia, I walked East this past spring, going from Muxia back to Santiago.

Funnily enough just walked up that street about 10 mins ago. City feels very quiet (relatively speaking) and first time I have been here when it’s feel this way! Very different vibe indeed!
