You're right it doesn't but the 'recognized' starting point is actually at the port, just down the road from the information office.I don't think the starting point needs to be at the tourist office or a church. I got mine last month from our hotel in Ferrol before we headed on our way. Probably any bar in town or business that is open early will at least have a return address stamp to offer.

Ah, my first night will be in La Coruña and I won't be staying in Ferrol, just passing through.Any bar or café that is open. You don’t really need one from you start point and if you get one from your first night’s accommodation, you can still get the 2 a day for your compostela.
