Sure, RickM, we are all humans but that isn't the point - (the actual 'point' was humour you know
) also, there is no such thing as 'Gaian descent' - Gaia doesn't exist, it is not a living entity that breeds it is just a modern post-hippy name for the planet we live upon, Earth. (I was having supper with Lovelock's son and wife a while back and he told me that his Dad was furious that he had been misinterpreted, misquoted - he said that the whole earth acted in a similar way
to a living organism and the post-hippies and off-gridders immediately changed it to him saying that the planet
was a living organism - upset him quite a lot!). - oh, unless you meant Ghanian descent?
- but all that aside, my (attempted) humorous point was that there was a genetic mutation a few thousand years ago in Europe that produced, for the first time, blue eyes - and all those with blue eyes are descended from that one person, that first mutation - it is that mutation that makes us a 'small club' within the species, we are all directly related to that first blue eyed person and each other - so we blue eyed pilgrims could greet each other as 'close' relatives (and now we find that a number of us blue-eyed folk are left-handed too!!).
But Rick, it isn't meant to be serious, no one should feel left out, there are plenty of other mutations - go red hair for one - it was merely an attempt to raise the kindness and humour level of the forum, which seems to me to be going through a difficult patch at the moment. xx
p.s. now! a blue eyed red haired freckled left hander? That was me (until I went grey) - I am Scot parented which explains it - any more out there????
