I am just about to start on the Santiago to Finisterre route, and am planning to drastically lighten my backpack, as I am just finishing the Frances from the Primitivo. Do I need a sleeping bag ? On the Primitivo, definitely yes it was needed, but all the albergues on the Frances seem to have blankets. I'll take my sheet sleeping bag, but would love to leave the other sleeping bag behind with other excess stuff.

Thanks
Jennifer

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Jennifer, the simple answer is no. I walked from Santiago to Muxia then Finisterre, staying in a combination of xunta and private albergues, and a hostel. There were blankets available in all the places that I stayed. I carried and used my own sleeping bag and liner, but could have made do with just a liner for that leg.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Even if you do not see a blanket you can always ask your host for a blanket. Sometimes the blankets are tucked away in storage spaces and not on immediate view.

I just used a liner for that journey and got on fine. There was lots of rain and it was cool at times out but I did not need anything apart fro blankets that are available.

Hi, we stayed at the Hostal Mariquito or something like that, sorry can't remember the exact name. It had basic, but perfectly fine rooms, with a sea view, and cost 36 euros per night for a double room.
It's not far from the bus stop.
