I have read (on the internet) that the Cruz de los Peregrinos by the side of the N-135, was moved to this place in 1880 by the Prior Don Francisco Polite. I have also read that it was 'erected' by the same man. The cross is very weathered and could be 144 years old, or much older. Does anybody know if it was moved here from somewhere else (if so, where?), or was it first erected here in 1880? Does anybody know what the carvings represent? They are now too weathered for me to have any idea.
Just to be clear: I'm referring to the cross by the side of the N-135, about 200 m from the 790 km road sign at Roncesvalles, not the White Cross, or Cross of Roldán.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).
That link gets me to a field near Peterborough.
Something strange is happening. It works fine for me consistently getting me to a named pin. But when I do a share immediately after Maps gets me there it gives me a different location value; the one used below, VoNcr99rtXniSedF8

Anyway, the point of interest is very close to coordinates 43.0061499,-1.3190722

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Does anybody know what the carvings represent?
As mentioned in the thread about this cross that you had started in 2021 and I don't think that anything new has been discovered since then:

Las imágenes esculpidas serían, además de la de Jesús crucificado, la Virgen con el Niño y el rey Sancho el Fuerte y su esposa Clemencia.
It certainly looks plausible to me: 1 - Jesus on the cross, 2 - Mary with baby Jesus, and 3 - A man and a woman who could well be Navarran King Sancho and his wife Clemencia.
