Cold nights on the Caminho Portugues

...but the days are gorgeous, right about now. Almond trees and magnolias starting to bloom in central Portugal. Daytime temperatures about 13-15 C.

Not many peregrinos, but a few hardy souls walking through Barquinha.

I'm on the Camino Frances just now. The forecast is for the temperature here to drop to -7C overnight. The Portugues sounds almost tropical in comparison!

My neighbour has just put plastic shelter over his baby lettuces. He says there's often a cold snap ("cold snap" ha ha) this time of year. Sure feels like spring to me! Lots of budding happening.

But no rain!!!! Living in Normandy that's quite a difference, especially with slighter warmer days. Looking forward to June, when I might just get there this time.
