Cheap RENFE fares SdC to Madrid

RENFE have just made available very cheap fares for travel between SdC and madrid in May. I have just booked to Segovia, the stop before Madrid for just over £12. The price displayed for the Alvia trains dep Santiago de Compostela 7.48am (arrive Madrid 13.06pm) or depart 15.12pm (arrive Madrid 20.17pm) is quoted as 16.75 euros.
