Cheap merino alert UK

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I often have read on this forum of clothing being sold at Aldi's, in particular Merino wool. Unfortunately I have never seen an Aldi's in my area of the US selling clothing, although I've seen a few small electric appliances for sale.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
They seem to sell out ultra fast! Never been lucky enough to find any.
The first, and only, time that I went, having read an advert, I was elbowed out of the way by the all male gang who were behind me at the door but ran like the dickens to get their prized items. This is a fact. Not a judgment. Nor a gender insult. Just a fact. Younger than me people able to scoot directly to the spot!
I have noted though that this Thursday it ought to be a feature in the local Aldi. I won't be competing.

Aldi merino wool isn’t a particularly fine grade and I find it itchy and irritating on my skin.
Whereas (considerably) more expensive brands such as Icebreaker or Wool& are lovely to wear.
There are 5 basic grades of merino wool, and around 50 grades in total.
Aldi merino is a low grade hence the low price.

Thanks! Merino wool is in sale rn (until 11/25) at REI online store (in the US)
I just bought my two merino wool base layers from REI yesterday. Even on sale, they are costly. Aldi will no doubt be much lower. Going to check them out on Thursday.

I have a long sleeved merino wool top from Aldi. It is durable, warm and not itchy. I bought 3 more last winter. No problem buying them in Melbourne suburbs.

Ah yes, but my Aldi baselayer T shirt survived the washing machine and stomp washing.

While shopping this morning I noticed that Aldi's ski clothing special buys will include merino base layers, and zip and roll neck tops. Due in store this Thursday.
I bought a merino top from them a few yeras ago and it is warm and seems durable.
My experince with Aldi merino tops is all positive - they are light but warm, adn well suited to a layering stratgey - I can wear mine as a themal udnershrt, a T-short or a pyjama top.

I suspect that they will wear failry quickly if worn as a T-shirt whilst carry a backpack (rubbing from the shoulder straps) but shoudl last for at least one Camino.

At the usual Aldi price and with their low eght, they are still extremenly good value (in MHO). No doubt other stores will sell their own versions of the merino top but I am more than satisfied with my purchases from Aldi.
