Changing flights at CDG Paris

Hi, we are arriving at cdg Paris from Frankfurt and then have a flight to Biarritz.

We have a tight schedule with only 1+3/4hr from arrival to takeoff.

Do we have to purchase tickets for the shuttle train from terminal 1 to terminal 2? And the same with the shuttle bus from gate F to gate G?

Thanks

Linda and Jimmy

It's tight if you have to check in again. I like to allow at least 3 hours if seperate tickets. If it's all within the same ticket, that's plenty of time and you'll be put on the next flight if you miss it. No need to pay for the free airport shuttle.

Hi, no not a connecting flight sadly but we only have carry on luggage
Is it easy to find the shuttle from terminal 1 to terminal 2?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I was in CDG two weeks ago. Shuttle is free and super quick, terminal 1 to 2 would take less than 10 min.

But to be very sincere, due to the strikes, security lanes were insane. Immigration arrival took about 2.5 hours. For the departure flight, took us about 3 hours AFTER checkin to be able to get to the gate.

If you only have hand luggage, do online checkin for your second flight so you can go straight into your new boarding gate.

I really wish for the sake of everyone that the situation got better now that the protests eased out a bit.

I didn’t even think of the strikes. It was the only flight I could get down to biarritz on the day.

I did the terminal change in October 2022.
From the time I deplaned, went through security again, took the shuttle, and walked into Terminal 2 it took 1:45. Best wishes.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
There are sites on the internet complete with maps and videos for navigating CDG. There will be photos of the actual signs in the terminals, which of course are mainly in French. These proved to be very helpful last year for this solo traveler.

It’s the only airport (and I’ve been through many) where I saw fights break out several times in horrendous check-in and security queues. That was 20 years ago and I’ve never routed through CdG since. Even Rome; where the concept of forming a queue has never existed (I had an Italian grandparent; so I’d love think differently) works better than CdG.

Good luck.

And:

“If you only have hand luggage, do online checkin for your second flight so you can go straight into your new boarding gate.”

This is excellent advice.

I hadn't even thought about changing terminals! I chose to fly to Bayonne due to the comparative simplicity of changing flights at CDG. Just checking my tickets. I arrive terminal 1 and fly out of terminal 2. Fortunately 1 have about 4 hours between flights.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi, thanks for your advice. I have already done the online check-in and they have sent me a boarding pass through to my WhatsApp. Do I need to get this printed as I go through the airport?

What do you mean went through security again? Do you have to go through twice?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

I was anxious about this too. I found YouTube videos showing the walk from one terminal to the other which reassured me

Personally, I always take a printed copy although electronic seems to work just about everywhere.

We made it! 😁🥳 we watched the you tube videos of how to get to 2G and walked so fast. At customs they made us take off our boots full body pat down, our flight was delayed by 15 minutes we really thought we wouldn’t make it!! Couldn’t believe we got there in time 😅

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
