Posted a message about Centering Prayer and then realized it may cross the Forum Rule about no religious discussions. My apologies, tried to delete but can't so if a mod can delete, I'd appreciate it, my apologies again.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

The moderators have the (almost) final say, but my two cents.

The rule also says: "It is true that the Camino and religion are closely related, so some leeway will be given" with respect to the "no discussion of religion."

We pilgrims walk for personal, secular, spiritual (broadly defined), and religious reasons.

As someone who is not in any way "religiously orthodox" but spiritual in the broad and curious and inclusive sense of the word, I'd welcome posts that non-dogmatically and non-divisively share personal reflections on the practice of centering prayer for Camino pilgrims.

I hope your post won't be deleted and if it stays up I'll be interested to read your thoughts.

That part of the rule always makes me laugh.
Yeah, I guess you could say that an ancient pilgrimage named after a saint and who's destination is a centuries old Catholic cathedral is closely related to religion. 🤣🤣🤣

I do not see any such post, so I can't judge whether it violates any rule or not. I suspect that your posting was not completed, or you posted it in a direct message to another member.

Hi, I couldn't delete the post (couldn't find a way to do it) so just backspaced it out and replaced with the message. I can delete the whole thing if someone can tell me where the delete button is! Thanks!

Personally, I think it would be silly to have a Camino Forum that doesn't let people acknowledge the role that religion has historically played in the Camino (and continues to play for many pilgrims). I also want this to be a Forum where people can bring their whole selves. I don't think Forum members who are religious should be forced to masquerade as atheists. I think people should be free to express the religious aspects of their pilgrimages, ask about where and when masses (or other religious services) will be held, etc.

Where it cross the line for me is when it strays into not just expressing your own religion but trying to convert others to it (overt proselytizing) or denigrating the religious beliefs of others.

But I am just one moderator. I cannot speak for the others, or for Ivar, who has the final say.

The post was about how I recently joined a Centering Prayer group and I mentioned a YouTube video with Father Thomas Keating, a Trappist monk, explaining what it involves. I asked if anyone had used it on a pilgrimage or in their daily lives. And then realized it may have crossed the religion line. Thanks, C Clearly!

Appreciate the kind thoughts, the work of all the mods and Ivar, who started this process for so many pilgrims!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
To all with the kind words, I'm happy to post again, as soon as I get an okay from the mods. Do not want to get dinged out of the group!
