- walking every day for the rest of my life
I am one of these people who gets an idea, plans it carefully but quickly (somewhat obsessively even) and then wants to implement it immediately. I don't do patience well.
Once we had decided to walk next year I wanted to buy tickets....but of course you can't when it's 14 months out. Then Kiwinomad suggested waiting until September for cheaper fares, so we waited even longer.
Once we saw the flights we needed to take home from Barcelona we realised we were going to lose two days of hubby/daddy being with us so we decided to switch to flying to and from Madrid instead.
Our travel agent found amazing fares (only just a smidgen over NZ$2,000 for the adults) and we took them. But we didn't have to pay up front so we decided to hold on to our money - even though it meant more waiting and feeling like it still might not happen! Tuesday the agent went to pay and the fares had gone up by a total of $1,500. She did not proceed and contacted us to see what we'd like to do. "Ring the airline," we suggested! They did not return her calls and then yesterday she had a very rare day off and was out of cell-phone coverage all day....so we get to Thursday and still don't know what the story is. Patience.
She finally gets through the the airline who explain they had accidentally put up an incorrect fare and it had not been up long before the mistake was noticed and rectified. However, they will honour it. Never have I been so grateful for patience! Always grateful for provision.
