Camino Portugues Pictures (and them some....)

Hi all,

Here's a link to pictures from half of the Camino Portugues. My mother and I took 8 days to walk the 118K from Valenca in Portugal to Santiago de Compostela.

I apologize in advance for the number of pictures 'not' camino related - we also spent a few days in Santiago and in Lisbon afterwards. They were still part of my trip and experience, so I've kept them included.

I do behavioral research on the Golden Lion Tamarin (the small orange monkey in the pictures) and included is my visit to the Lisbon zoo. If this is an issue, please stop viewing at photo #320.

Thanks for all of the support, information and insight. It was an amazing and powerful experience.

Best regards,
Athena

Hi Athena and thank you for sharing your photos!

... my wife and I often go to Padron (15 minutes from our house) for the Sunday market. I see you stopped by there when they had "Las fiestas Romanos" about a week ago.

I have been doing some non-pilgrim related travels this summer as well, my pictures are here:

Thank Athena for those wonderful pictures.

As I said somewhere in this forum : god willing I will walk from Lisbon to Santiago in April 2008. This would be my second trip as I completed the CF in Sept 2006.

Any advice you may have is welcome.

Thanks Athena

Thanks Athena for those wonderful pictures. They show what a wonderful shared experience you had with your Mum.

Great pics, Athena, thanks for sharing them. There's a lot of world there! Best, xm

Dear Athena, your photos are amazing. Btw, would you let me know how much of water must one carry between next supplies on the route Tui - Santiago di C.? :?:

Hi Olga,

It depends what you mean by supplies. The road was isolated a few times, but there were plenty of fuentes along the route that provided water, and most stops are in large enough towns where you could purchase things if necessary.

I hope this is useful - let me know if you have any other questions.

Bom Caminho,
Athena

A great book to listen to while training for the Camino or to relive the experience!
