Camino Madrid short stages?

Chito

Joseph
Time of past OR future Camino
Frances in 2016, Portuguese in 2017, and Frances again in 2018. Madrid to Ponferrada 2019.
I'll be walking the Camino Madrid, beginning in April. Any updated information would be appreciated in terms of accommodation, etc. I am now in my late seventies and would like to walk shorter stages, if possible (under 20k per day).
Thank you,
Joseph (Chito)

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Gronze is a good statring place for info - https://www.gronze.com/camino-santiago-madrid

However, I think getting stages of under 20k may be a challenge. Especially the stage from Ceredilla-Segovia as that is a tough 30k stretch.

There are some alternatives but others with better knowledge of the other routes should be able to assist more than me.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The only alternative ( walking) is to take a bus from Cercedilla to Puerto de Navacerrada ( 1828 mts] and walk from there to Puerto de la Fuenfria ( 1790 mts). Is an one hour and a half walk not difficult but I don' t dare to recommend to people who don' t know Sierra de Madrid.

To shorten that stage, I stopped at one of the Youth Hostels shortly after Cercedilla and took a detour to La Granja de San Ildefonso, where I spent the night before continuing to Segovia. But even so, it may have been a bit above 20 km.

I found Ray and Rosa (who have a website with Camino guides and run a wonderful little acogida in Manzanares el Real) the best source for current information on the Camino de Madrid.

I'm planning a short stage CM too so if someone can tell me if this is accurate:
Navacerrada - hotels;
Cercedilla approx 6km, lots of accom options;
Las Dehesas-Cercedilla approx 4 km, has a youth hostel and a CR;
Puerto de la Fuenfria ;
Valsain 19 km from Las Dehesas. Accom : OYO Casa Rural La Chata;
La Pradera de Navalhorno 1 km, Accom La Querencia de Valsaín Country House;
La Granja de San Ildefonso 3km lots of accom options;
Quitapesares 5 km, hostal;
Segovia 8km

Chito, here are my stages and distances for last year’s Madrid (miles, not km). I hope you can make sense of it. I was happy with these stages. I know it shows 15 miles from Penaflor to Medina, but it really didn’t feel like that — not much in the way of elevation changes, I guess. Buen camino to you, I hope you love this path as much as I did.
