On the way to La bergerie de Fay from Le Puy because we couldn’t get any other accommodation. La Bergerie was fantastic…. View attachment 177914
Frogg Toggs. I don’t think it’s very durable but it only needs to last me this trip.Nice looking poncho! What brand is it?
Great drawing/painting! I stepped out of this lovely cathedral in 2018 to walk the Le Pey, the Via Podiensis. It is one if my top favorite!
They are the most beautiful cows I have ever seen.Great cows today from Aumont Aubrac to Domaine de Barena!
I love Frogg Toggs! I wear the rain jacket (and occasionally the matching pants) on every Camino for many years and always keep me dry. They are more robust than they seem.Frogg Toggs. I don’t think it’s very durable but it only needs to last me this trip.
A pen and some watercolours….The drawings are wonderful, thanks for sharing! Are you using watercolor, colored pencils, watercolor pencils?? I would love to know...
It doesn’t seem very crowded (we missed the mass). But near Conques people seem to be having a bit of difficulty finding accommodation so perhaps a good idea to book ahead. Thanks for the joyfullness of your drawings, I am planning La voie du Puy next September is it very crowded ? how many pilgrims were at the mass at the Cathedral the morning you left ?
I can see they are "hot off the press". @Pinomarion doesn't miss a detail.Shouldn't those piles be smiling ...
You bring "magic" to your pen and colors. I love them all, and will miss seeing new ones once you finish.A pen and some watercolours….
At least you have pretty shoes! I wore some terribly ugly, yucky coloured boots on that route and looking at them made my eyes hurt. They worked well and gave no blisters but were seriously ugly.
I loved Espeyrac and its attractive French architecture, but can't recall this cute place.Loved this place in Espeyrac…
Depends on the amount of detail - it takes a while, say 6-8 hours. I like finishing the daily walks by 2 or 3 and then drawing until dinner.I loved Espeyrac and its attractive French architecture, but can't recall this cute place.
May I ask how long each picture takes you on average, to draw and paint from start to finish while on your camino?
Very time consuming for you. I so appreciate your commitment to paint, and then sharing your awesome artwork with all of us! They make me smile.Depends on the amount of detail - it takes a while, say 6-8 hours. I like finishing the daily walks by 2 or 3 and then drawing until dinner.
Are you having any challenges finding available beds since most gîtes close at some point in October? I am considering starting from Le Puy instead of St Jean next week and am concerned I will have to skip stages if nothing’s open especially in early November. Sadly we only walked from Le Puy to Conques this year. I envy you being able to walk longer…. I booked everything ahead of time, that’s how I roll. Not as adventurous as others on the Camino! Don't be sad! That is a beautiful stretch!Sadly we only walked from Le Puy to Conques this year. I envy you being able to walk longer…. I booked everything ahead of time, that’s how I roll. Not as adventurous as others on the Camino! Good luck….
My french friend tells me that’s the most beautiful stretch of the whole Via Podiensis! I would much prefer to book it all in advance too but when I last walked the Francés I was too ambitious with my planning and got injured. Hopefully it will feel adventurous and not stressful LOL.Sadly we only walked from Le Puy to Conques this year. I envy you being able to walk longer….
