Hello - I am a new member of this board - this is my first post. I am planning to walk the Camino Frances after the summer. I plan to take about a month, probably starting in mid September. mainly because I would like to avoid the summer heat, crowds and possibility of not finding places in the Refugios.
My reason for wanting to do this is that I read a book by Nicholas Crane called "Clear Waters rising, a mountain walk across Europe". In it he mentions the Camino Frances, along which he walked part of, but West to East. I looked up CF on Google, learned and was hooked! For the first time since my 20's I can afford to take a month off work, and I am hoping the Camino will give me the complete change of scene that I crave!
I am a 50 year old Englishman and will be walking alone but hoping to meet other peregrinos along the way. I am a Christian but am not intending to make the journey for pilgrimage reasons
I have been lurking around this this board for some weeks now, thanks to all for the very useful information you share.
Best Wishes
David
