Buses from Santiago to Porto

Time of past OR future Camino
Want to walk 2wks in May 2016
I will need to catch the bus from Santiago to Porto Airport. I understand a bus leaves at midday and takes about 3hrs. Are these buses very busy? Should I book it in advance and if so does anyone know their website details?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I am not too sure if they stop at the airport. We caught a bus from the bus station in Santiago to Porto in 2014 and I cant remember it stopping at the airport.

Hi Julie, Alsa.es/en takes you to the English version of the booking system . I am using the bus on Friday 6th May. It departs SDC at 12.00hrs and arrives at the airport at 15.00hrs. Don't forget this is a four hour journey. It is 33 euro single. I am going to book it before I leave the UK as have heard it often is full.

One I took one in June 2015 it stopped 3 times. 1 time before Portugal, 1 time at the airport then downtown Porto at a metro station.

I booked it a couple hours before then went and had coffee across the street. It was busy but not full.

This is the Alsa bus at Casa de Musica in Porto last week. It stops at the airport first. It does get busy, so I would advise booking in advance if you have to travel on a certain day.

See the Autna page and you will find that the 'fine print' says Castromil provides the service from Santiago to Vigo. Its missing from Margaret's copy. I can't find the same information as Margaret has provided on the Autna website.

Hi Nick

Be warned Alsa does not accept British credit cards you need to use Paypal or American Express. Even a British friend in Madrid could not book the bus for me with his credit card. Luckily a Spanish friend has booked my ticket for me.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
That was strange, I was just completing my booking with Alsa as your update came through. re the postcode all you need to do is put in five No.1's and it will let you through.
re payment it has just accepted my MasterCard issued by HSBC. Hope this is helpful.
Nick

Oh dear, update on the above, despite it all looking good and the booking sorted on my HSBC credit card nothing came through. I called my card company who said there were TWO!!!! amounts ready to be taken from my account even though I only entered my details once. I put a block on it and nothing has been taken. I have now completed the booking through PayPal. lesson learnt.

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
