I realize this has likely been covered before, but bus company timetables and routes change over time, so . . . Does anyone know whether there will still be bus service from Pamplona to St. Jean in late September? I arrive in Madrid on Sept. 22, will take the train or bus to Pamplona, and would like to get to St. Jean the same day if possible. Otherwise I will enjoy a day in Pamplona. I prefer not to take a taxi.

Also, if there is bus service, can anyone tell me the name of the company so that I can check their website for departure times, etc.? I did this last year with Avanza, traveling to another location in Spain, and found their website to be pretty informative and reliable.

Gracias por su ayuda.

Orafo,

For daily bus service from Pamplona to SJPdP see this earlier Forum thread dated April 2013. >> el-camino-frances/topic18162.html

Thank you, Margaret. That's the thread I knew must exist but yet had not found! Very helpful.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Hi Orafo. I’m having the same issue, arriving Pamplona on September 15. The bus schedule only allows booking until September 4. I’m wondering if they stop service then or they just don’t have the schedule built that far out?
I believe it is that they only schedule a number of weeks in advance. That has been the case for years anyway. In pre-covid days they would have service until about the end of October.

It's a very busy bus route.
I doubt they have plans to cancel it.

I’m informed by Alsa that they are not scheduling the trip from Pamplona to SJPP after September 4. I’m looking to get to SJPP on September 15 or 16. I’m arriving Madrid and flexible. Does anyone have any ideas or interest in sharing a ride from Pamplona? Or somewhere else?
You could try the bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles and either start from there or walk a loop through Valcarlos to St. Jean then back to Roncesvalles.

Do you know which bus company goes from Pamplona to Roncesvalles?
