Hi guys,

if you think about staying overnight in BIZKARRETA on camino francés at this time of the year (winter), you should know that all places including those listed on Gronze website as opened all year round were actually closed (22/01/2024). Even the one casa I found available on Booking - I made a reservation which was accepted, then a lady from this accomodation (Casa Maitetxu) called me to say it is also closed - this has never happened to me before when making a reservation via Booking and I use Booking a lot and for a very long time). Buen camino to everybody.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
yes I kept going and going, it was still early afternoon since I started from Valcarlos well before sunrise - the albergue there was opened btw. and I had no prior reservation. I planned to have an easy day with stop at Bizkarreta...but you all know about our plans on camino. 😂 And then I took a taxi to a place not exactly on the camino. So I can't say for Zubiri but at least the albergue at the bridge was supposed to be opened.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
