Baggage transfer only from beginning to end along portuguese central, no stages

Hello!

I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service to deliver a suitcase when I start in Porto and then pick it up 2~3 weeks later in Santiago, I don’t need anything in between.

It’s just that before starting the camino i’ve been traveling through Portugal with luggage, I’m packing a smaller bag to do my camino with just the essentials c:

Also I see services have a 20kg limit, any experience with heavier bags? Haven’t weighed mine but i’m pretty sure it’ll be over that.

Thank you!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
We used this service recently & Ivar sent DHL pick up instructions & our luggage was waiting gor us at Casa Ivars when we got to Santiago. Great service.
may i ask where did you send it from and how much did dhl charge you? thanks!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Ivar will give you all the information you need on that website. For 2 bags shipped & stored in Santiago it ended up being about $200USD, but well worth it. We did it for the same reason you are. The pick up times on a weekend are limited. Good luck.

I used Pilbeo in 2023. Porto pickup, waiting in Santiago when I arrived, 70 euros.

We used Caminofacil. Picked up from Porto & dropped off to hotel in SdC. It cost 80 euros- Sept 2024.
BTW- we had an Apple tracker in the bag & it travelled slowly along the Camino as well! Assume was passed along with the daily luggage deliveries. Which would have been about the same price as direct. But really liked being minimal for the 2 weeks & no other bag to fuss with each day until reached the end & become “traveller” instead of “pilgrim” mode.
