Can anyone tell me a definitive way via bus or train to get from the Biarritz airport in France to Irun, Spain (only about 20 miles). I've checked multiple bus schedules, train schedules, etc. and my brain is full. I can't seem to find the route. I arrive about 4PM at the Biarritz airport on a Monday. Thank you.

That is very helpful. Thank you. I'll take a look at that. At least I will be closer!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
How about this? Ouibus leaves Biarritz Airport at 4:40 PM on a Tuesday, makes one stop in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, then travels onto Hendaye (I assume it stops at the bus station) by 5:25 PM. Then I just need to walk from Hendaye across the bridge to Irun or find another bus!

That late in the day I hope you have a place to stay. There is a train from Biarritz to Hendaye around 19h and then the last one at 23h. The train station is not far from the airport and there are buses from the airport. The walk from Hendaye to the Spanish border takes a couple of minutes and, voila, you are in Irun.

Yes. I have a place to stay for that night. I am trying to sort out the options on the trains.. It's confusing. If I can get from the airport to the Biarritz train station, there are trains running to Hendaye. But there also appears to be a bus running at 4:40 PM and arriving in Hendaye at 5:25 PM. That would give me plenty of time to walk to Irun.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
I am confused. You said you are arriving on Monday, why are you looking at bus on Tuesday? Once you are across the bridge to Irun you don't need another bus unless you are headed to San Sebastian or Bilbao. Unless I missed something?

Lots of trains, but as I said above the the last 2 ones are 19h and 23h.

Sorry, yea, it's a Monday, not a Tuesday. My bad.

In summary, as long as I have a place to stay that night (a Monday!), and I do, I won't need to worry about getting from the Biarritz Airport (around 4PM) to Irun because there are plenty of buses and trains?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I have walked from Biarritz airport to train station. Takes about half an hour. Downhill all the way if I recall.
Or a taxi will take about 5 minutes.

@GraemeHall - thank you. Walking from the Biarritz airport to the Biarritz train station is Plan B! I'm hoping to catch a quick bus to save time. ;)

Hi I'm travelling to Burgos to walk part of the Camino Frances next year and my options seems to be fly into Santander and coach to Burgos, or fly into Madrid, then coach to Burgos. Don't think...
Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
