After 1000 Pilgrims menus sometimes you just have to splurge. My vote for the best fine dining on Camino is Restaurante Serrano in Astorga.
Went there for our Anniversary. Actually it was so good we went back a second night.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The pilgrim meal at the Paradour in Leon was outstanding for 30 Euros. Probably a $100.00 meal in the states.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I enjoyed two delicious meals at the Parador in Santiago. This was at lunchtime and (partially) to escape from the incessant rain. I'd like to emphasise what has been said before on this forum: the Spanish lunchtime is a better option for pilgrims than the late dinner time in up-market restaurants!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
A selection of Camino Jewellery
I totally agree with @MyDestinationGalicia - A Horta do Obradoiro is fantastic! More details (and photos that remind me again how delicious that meal was) in my blog:

Come on!!! You should be banned for posting any blog like this... I'm so much in pain that I won't be able to walk a Camino this year and then I have to read your blog and LOOK at your photos... It's just not fair :D

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
It's just not fair :D

I'm sorry!!! But I can relate ... after finishing that camino where I ate at A Horta, I couldn't walk without pain for nearly 15 months. But I'm pain-free now and doing LOTS more blogging about the delicious food in Galicia! Let's just call it a feast for your eyes until you can get back there! ;):p:p

At a price that would astound!

Casa Camino on the Primitivo... best hosts, best food, best retreat , would go back to Spain just for a visit here !

Casa Pachon in Salas on the Primitivo.
El rinconcillo in Monesterio on VDLP.
La Cochera, somewhere along the fist half of VDLP
El Comeero in Zafra, VDLP

El Mesón de Luisi" C/ Ortega y Gasset, 17 (Plaza Luis del Olmo),Ponferrada. One of the best meals of our trip this year and a reasonable price. This was lunchtime and we were not in Ponferrada to try their evening menu.
We visited Ponferrada to see the Templar Castle. The restaurant is down from the castle, cross the road and walk over the bridge. Turn left at the roundabout and it is on the left.

And on the Via de la Plata nothing beats: Me Gusta Comer in Rionegro del Puente - A 10 Euro menu that truly is of Michelin quality - quails in chocolate sauce anybody? Only place ever I had two menus a day. Tasty link: https://agmegustacomer.wordpress.com/ Buen Camino, SY

The breakfast buffet was outstanding, however, then we had to walk on a really full stomach.

When we arrived there at lunchtime on a day in April this year the owner told us in a very unfriendly way to go somewhere else. It was busy, okay, but his way of handling us was absolutely below zero.

And on the VDLP at Caceres, a delicious meal at Madruela.

Yes, we are staying at Matias now, and the pizza is awesome, not the frozen stuff. In the evening, go to their courtyard and enjoy a mojito. The double rooms are not expensive..
All of the aforementioned above posts on great restaurants have me salivating and leave me feeling cheated through my own fault. :( Although the food I ate was usually pretty good (with a winner periodically), I was always eating pilgrim meals, menu del dia and the occasional racione.

La Esencia, la Puebla, Burgos. Amazing gourmet menu for 17 euro and the best wine. In the old town. Next door to the hotel Jacobeo. The best meal of the whole Camino! And I went back twice!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
In Santiago, I like Garum. Creative food, great wine, well-informed staff.
I am also a fan of Casa Marcelo, and Hortas (right across the street.)

Out on the trail I seek out Pizzeria La Competencia in Leon, Oviedo, Burgos, and Ponferrada -- one of the best value Menus del Dia anywhere.

For me, Casa Marcelo was heaven on earth

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The food at Casa Marcelo is indeed marvellous, but when you have just walked a few hundred kilometers, their high stools are not the best!

WOW was that each? Stayed there last August and paid €99 for a double room and breakfast for two, never appreciated what a bargain it was!
